What is included in our session?
Your custom photography session includes 1 to 3 hours with Joe on location or at your home. During this time you have free access to the photographer and his artistic vision to bring you beautiful one of a kind photos of your children and family. Your session also includes the time involved in the hand selecting, correcting, and processing of your images. This process often takes up to a week depending on the number of photos that are taken during your session. The session fee does not include your prints, accessories or any DVD’s or cod’s of your images, these items are purchased seperately.
**Please note that you will typically receive 20 to 30 processed photographs to choose from, during an hour long session, sometimes more depending on the session. Due to the amount of time involved in taking and processing the photos from your session, NOT all of the images are kept. Only the best photos from the session are kept and processed to be offered to the client. This is Joe's choice due to the fact that these photographs will be displayed in his portfolio, he reserves the right to pick and choose the photographs that best encompass his talent. We ask that you do not expect Joe to send you every photograph taken during the session, due to the fact that those photographs that do not make the cut are deleted and not kept on file. We appreciate your understanding.**
What will our session be like?
Our photography sessions are casual and laid back. We want our clients to be comfortable and to be able to capture lasting images of your children doing what they do best, being children! Sessions typically run anywhere from 1 to 3 hours so please plan accordingly when setting the time and date for your session.
Where will our session take place?
Since Joe is a natural light photographer most sessions take place outdoors at parks, gardens, etc. However, the location of your session is completely up to you. If you have a favorite spot that you would like to have your photos taken at please let us know. We can also help to suggest a locale if you do not have a particular place in mind. Please keep in mind that Joe is a natural light photographer, he needs good natural light to capture beautiful portraits, so early morning or evening hours are the best times to have your sessions.
How do I set up an appointment to have my photographs taken?
To book Joe for a photography session please contact him via email or by phone at (936) 200-4036 to inquire about available dates and times. If you would like additional information regarding our photo shoots please don't hesitate to contact us. We will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. We can also send you a new client package via email that contains a welcome letter, current pricing list, and a copy of our client contract and model release.
Newborn sessions: When should I book my session, and what can I expect?
If you are expecting a child please give us a call or send us an email in advance to set a general date for your newborn session. Once you have your child, please give us a call asap to set the date and time for your session. In order to capture those fresh beautiful newborn shots the pictures need to be taken within the first two weeks of life, preferably within the first week. It is during this time that the babies are easily posed, and have that natural "curl" to them, which they begin to lose after the first two weeks of life.
Because we understand what it's like to bring home a new bundle of joy, we want our clients to feel comfortable and relaxed during their photography session. We allow our new parents plenty of time for feedings and diaper changes, and sessions can be shot outdoors for a natural light setting or indoors using studio lighting equipment.
We provide props for your session, including baskets, hats, blankies, cocoons, hammocks and storks bags to capture those beautiful and unique upscale photos. Or if you have a special blanket or outfit you would like to see your little one is please don't hesitate to bring it along.
What should I wear?
Most photographers advise their clients to keep their choice of clothing simple, avoiding vibrant colors, logos, or distracting patterns. However, we would like for our clients to be comfortable and to wear what they would like to see in their photographs. You are welcome to bring two or three changes of clothes for your children, if you have different outfits that you would like to see in your photographs. You can also feel comfortable coming in jeans and matching shirts if this is the look that you would like to see in your photographs.
Newborns and young babies are often best photographed wearing nothing, or just a diaper cover to give you that sweet natural look. If your child has a favorite blankie, woobie, or stuffed animal please feel free to bring it along. We want to make our clients happy and to bring out their personality in their photographs. Every person, child, and family is different so we strive to make your session a custom fit and individual experience.
We also have our own selection of photo props, ranging from natural baskets to photograph newborns in, to antique chairs for older children. We can also provide the use of hammocks, stork bags, and cocoons for newborns, as well as blankies, hats and other accessories that are so popular with professional photographers. All of these items are hand made by my wife and add that something extra special to your photographs.
